"Googie" February 2005-September 17, 2019

Googie
Miss Mary Jane
Jethrine Bodine...our sweet girl
loving gentle spirit

Our parvo and
abuse survivor.
Our fierce cancer fighter!

Our pigeon toed
airplane eared,
village market parking lot beggar

Our street smart trash digger
our tidy pork chop thief

Our muddy forest dweller.
Our good, good girl
Our gift of love.

Our long snouted
empathic friend and snow plow…
(but only for her little buddy).

Our coyote pack chasing, cat loving, protective wolf mama...
(but only for “her people”)

Spirit Great
Love
sustain us
our hearts,
her heart
One Heart

Blessed Mother Moon
I whisper wish
just this...

Sister sun, sea and sky
hold our cloud white angel
now and ever
in Love and Light.

And even in our sleep,

pain which cannot forget
,
falls drop by drop upon the heart,

until in our own despair and
against our will,

comes wisdom… through the awful grace of God.”

Willy (July 1999 - Dec. 11, 2012)

Our Small Brown "Cow" Dog

At 6 weeks we found you at the bottom of a pile
of sleeping shelter pups
the minute you looked at us
with those boot button eyes
we knew
it would be you.
our peanut
our one ear up and one ear down
Phony “lab”
our poopy little puppy
our sneaky little hamburger stealer
our half eared heel nipper
our joy
our very own small brown dog.

Our incredible flying
"chuck it" champion.
our herring chasing lake runner
our barky fish hook eater
Our nosy bossy
Stinky stubborn
demanding little beggar
our handsome cowboy dog.

And toward the end
unable to walk
our labor
of pure love
for you
still, our small brown dog

And now and for the last time
our blinky
bumble bee blanket sleeper
go sleep
our willful little Willy
and thank you

Rest, in loving peace.
You are free
walk, fly and run again
you will always live
inside our hearts
so deeply, deeply loved
you will always be
our small brown dog.

Until we meet again...
we will always be your “bitches”

The little souls that come into our lives open our hearts. We become the stewards of their lives caring for their every need, thinking we, only care for them.
When they pass, we realize how much they have given us. A heart with a capacity to feel and love more deeply.
Like the love, the deep pain we feel at their loss, changes who we are forever.
In loss, we must remember, that even now in our pain and grief,
we are not alone and neither are they.
Our love bonds us still.  Terry

Willy the incredible "chuck it" champion and a truly great dog!
